A couple of months ago, the big bosses made this big toodoo about company devotion. You may remember the T-shirts they handed out. Then they gave speeches for the poor bastards who have been here for five years and the guy who has been here for ten years, handed them a catalog, and allowed them to choose gifts from certain pages as appreciation for their service. Then they handed out green marblesque paperweights with "gold" trimmed clock in the center.
I did not fail to see the irony in handing out paperweights to the employees of an internet company.
Nor did I miss the irony in employees who were hired because of their "extensive construction and building knowledge" not being able to figure out how to set the clock since there were no dials on the rock it was set in.
