JOY

Stage Fright

Like most new things, I am somewhat anxious about doing this. Granted it's not like I'm trying out skydiving or anything, and I know all my friends are into it, so it can't be that bad for me.

I have never been comfortable brandishing my interests in places where others can see. I have never been able to wear a t-shirt or put a bumper sticker on my car with a band on it, for fear that no matter how knowledgeable about said band I may be, the one person who will notice the promotional item and confront me about it will be the world expert on that band and I will look like a come-lately poser. Therefore, filling out a form that says what I am interested in or writing things for others to see fills me with some trepidation. At least my paranioa-addled little brain has concocted a defense for this fear: when asked to list my interests, I often draw a blank. Honestly, I am pleased with the amount of subjects I was able to list.

Having that said, I am again at a blank.
