Want to Erase Last Night?

It’s not a very good sign when all you can think about at 9:45 on a Monday morning is how nice it will be to sleep in on Saturday. This is probably going to be a long week.

I will say, though, that I feel better today than I did Friday. I woke up ridiculously hung over, a hangover which, despite my greatest efforts made me feel progressively worse throughout the day, bringing me to believe that I was coming down with a cold. I went to the CVS across from work to pick up some Echinacea, some Vitamin C drops, some of that Alka-Seltzer Morning Relief stuff. I called in sick to my social life and had an evening of Zen Time to myself on Friday night, which was much deserved and wonderfully refreshing. I still felt a little off on Saturday, which left me worrying about the F.A.G.A.B.E. (or First Annual Games and Beer Evening) party I was planning for Saturday night.

Well, the party went swimmingly and well past six in the mo’noin. I woke up rightfully tired on Sunday, but my cold symptoms (knock, knock) seem to have subsided.

As for the Alka-Seltzer, believe the commercials. It’s that good. My barely-open eyes perked up, no more tummyache, fewer clouds in brain. But the best part was reading the label. It said stuff like “contains the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee, don’t use this medicine if you are on a sodium-restricted diet, contact a doctor if symptoms persist for more than three days” etc, etc, and at the bottom: “Alka-Seltzer Morning Relief is for the treatment of headaches, nausea and body aches due to hangover. Alka-Seltzer Morning Relief is NOT A SUBSITUTE FOR SLEEP.”

Couldja Help a Girl Out?

I am going to be transferring my car to Virginia soon and I'm going to have to look into insurance. Are you happy with your insurance carrier? Do you have anyone you can suggest that I check out?
