Zen Time

I gotta get up early on Saturdays more often. It feels great to know that I have the whole day ahead of me do just *do* stuff.

This early morning has been brought to me by last night's Zen Time. Zen Time: just what the doctor ordered after three straight super-busy weekends and a long vacation. No better way to succumb to alcohol withdrawl either. My Sims are prospering.

I was in bed by 11:30. This is partly due to the fact that I was exhausted, and partly due to the fact that I was too cold to be in the living room any longer. Bedtime attire included: flannel pyjamas, fleece slipper-socks that I tucked the bottoms of my pants into to prevent rising, and a baja. On the bed: down comforter, wool blanket, velour blanket.

Knee bone is connected to the leg bone

I've been watching Good Morning Vietnam on TV since I woke up.

During the scene when Adrian Cronauer is in the bar, Jimmy Wah talks about how he's been promised nude photographs of some movie star. I never fully got the joke because I didn't know who it was and could never remember the name. Thanks to modern conveniences and the fact that I watch TV while sitting in front of my computer, I was able to type up the name Walter Brennan as soon as it was said and got to see just who Jimmy Wah was lusting after. It's a lot funnier now.

While looking at the imdb entry for the movie, I noticed the name Floyd Vivino was linked. I know him best as Uncle Floyd, a childhood hero from public television and the ringmaster of the television experience that was The Uncle Floyd Show, a variety show for children that really wasn't for children...but it really wasn't for adults either. From the sound of the roucous laughter coming from the camera crew and how Floyd could barely keep it together long enough to perform an entire skit, I really don't think it was a show meant for anyone other than those who were making it. Going further into Floyd's page on imdb, I find that there exists a video collection of Uncle Floyd Show episodes, and a cross check on Amazon proves this can still be purchased. Cousins, it's mine.

All this came from trying to see who this Walter Brennan person is.
