This weekend has been perfect. Barely a drop of humidity, just the right amount of cloudcover, and the temperature hasn't gone above 80. It makes me so happy that the World War II veterans who have been waiting so long to get their own monument have been given the nicest weekend in recent memory to celebrate it. Had this been any other typical DC summer weekend, I'm sure some of the people who most want to see the monument couldn't last very long out in the heat at blaring sun. It makes my heart big to think what a nice gift they have been given with this weekend.
