"That sucks, sir."

The big boss's son, on leave from the military, is in the office today borrowing the boss's office and computer to get some stuff done. He has the family genetic trait of talking loudly on the phone with the office door open, but unlike his father, who is only amusing after work when his phone voice has switched to his casual voice and curses and swears begin to flow naturally from him, this guy is an awesome listen.

He talks with the clipped rhythm of a military man, yet his words are magically infused with colloquial slang: "yes, sir. I'll have that for you shortly...ok, cool, sir. ... Yes. That sucks, sir. ... Thank you sir. Talk ta' ya later."

Its as if the young man and the soldier are two entirely separate entities forced to share the same space, and their words are mushing together.
